The art created by American icons that is exhibited in Star Art, opens a window to their inner lives — from the spiritual painting of Sophia Loren to the classical figurative drawings of Peter Falk, to the dark nightmarish scenes of hell painted by Jack Kavorkian.

Star Art exposes the imagination, vulnerability and human side of those the media associates with power, money, fame, sexuality, gossip and notoriety. One wonders what is driving the desire of so many celebrities to channel their particular creativity to painting, as we try to read into the artwork something about their personal lives.

Damon Johnson is an emerging artist whose work reflects the fashionable celebrity society and the American iconic nightclub and underground scene in which he lives. Johnson (b. 1978, NYC) has been a graffiti artist and muralist since age 13, and exhibits throughout the metropolitan area in alternative art spaces and nightclubs such as Eleven, NA, Pink Elephant and Quo.
